The Lion King is one of the most well-known and classic Disney movies. It was released in 1994, and since its release has become on of the most sought out Disney movies of all time. It discusses class issues without boring the audience, creating a child-friendly atmosphere. With characters of all shapes and sizes (and species 😉), the movie reflects diversity as a theme simplified enough for children to find joy out of the movie.

The movie follows the adventures of Simba, heir to the throne, as he navigates the grief of his father’s death, growing up as an outcast lion and friendships. He blames himself for his father’s death, running away because of uncle Scar’s manipulation. He runs far away, only to find himself exhausted and sad. Timone the meerkat and Pumba the warthog, find little Simba and take him under their wing. As Simba grows into adulthood, he lives by the policy of ‘Hakuna Matata’, living off bugs and the joy of friendship. Once Simba hits adulthood, his old childhood friend Nala finds him and aggressively begs him to return to the Pride lands. He falls in love with Nala, and she convinces him to return, as true king.
So many people grew up watching this movie and so many more people will grow up watching it. This movie is timeless and one that anyone can watch and enjoy.
